Imagine yourself going outside in your backyard, about a half an hour before you're ready to start dinner.
The bees are buzzing. The butterflies are flying around colorful flowers. There's a light breeze. You can smell the rosemary and sage in the air.
You get your colander and your scissors, and you start to cut herbs; rosemary for your chicken, lemon thyme for asparagus, garlic chives for mashed potatoes, lime basil and mint for your watermelon arugula salad. Maybe a handful of green beans.
This could be you. This could be your backyard, and I can help you design it.
Grow a garden you love spending time in.
Hi! I’m Nicole, the Garden Coach behind A Little Dirt Can’t Hurt.
I believe gardening should feel approachable, personal, and a little bit magical.
Originally from Vermont, I spent years learning to garden in a completely different climate before moving to the Houston area over a decade ago. That transition reshaped everything I knew. It taught me how to listen to the land, adapt to the environment, and let go of the idea that there is only one “right” way to garden.
Now, I help others do the same.
Gardening can be as low-maintenance or as hands-on as you want it to be. If you love being outside, tending and tinkering, we can lean into that. If life is full and time is short, we can build something beautiful that doesn’t need constant care.
I’m here to walk alongside you, share what I’ve learned, and help you create a garden that fits your life, your climate, and your vision.
Based in Southwest Houston, Texas — offering in-person garden coaching locally and virtual coaching anywhere.
